A first Corner Store with Ultramar service station opens in Thornbury

Thornbury, February 8, 2016 – Since December 30th, residents and motorists going through Thornbury have been able to count on a brand new Corner Store to enjoy products from the Transit Café line and fill up their gas tank. CST Brands Inc. is pleased to announce the official opening of a new Corner Store with Ultramar service station located at 72 Arthur Street West, the first store with the Corner Store banner in the area. Exclusive provider of Ultramar fuels in Canada, CST is also one of the largest independent retailers of convenience merchandise in North America.

Operations at the 325 m2 (3,500 sq. ft.) establishment have resulted in the creation of about a dozen jobs, both full-time and part-time, under the supervision of manager Paul Daniel. It also includes a self-serve Transit Café concept, a TD bank machine, a brand new market section offering fresh and healthy products: sandwiches and salads, fruit bowls, veggie trays, nutrition bars, prepared meals, along with the regular convenience merchandise. Also, this site is the second store in the Canadian network to offer the Transit Café made-to-order menu. A program inspired by Nice N Easy’s award winning menu in the United States and features freshly made 16’’ pizzas, melts, subs, wraps, soups and salads. Products such as the Montreal smoked meat egg-on-the-go breakfast sandwich, the all dressed pizza and the smoked meat Rueben melt, all add a Canadian Twist to the offering!

“With this newly built outlet located on a popular commercial artery, CST continues to grow in Ontario. We are pleased to provide an additional location to delight our clientele. We are proud to open the first Corner Store in the area, combined with an Ultramar service station. We plan to open another store soon, in the Blue Mountain area” said Mario Sauvé, Regional Vice-President, Canada, CST Brands Inc.

To mark the official opening of the new establishment with the people of Thornbury, management had planned some entertainment, gasoline promotions, tastings, a lucky wheel and a few surprises on Friday, February 5, and Saturday, February 6.
